August 25, 200818 yr If they both do make to Lexington, does anyone think there is a chance we run a two QB system Do you mean "play equally?" No. Play Newton/Moss in spots early in the career? Maybe but only if they bring something different to the table than the starter.
August 25, 200818 yr Wow Newton not a running threat. He will probably weigh about 230. He also runs a 4.5 compared to Moss's 4.8. Either way UK will be in good shape with either of these kids. I thought Newton looked very poised in the pocket and made good decisions as a 17yr old HS player. Actually I thought there were times when he should have tucked it and run more often. His speed is very deceptive. He was outrunning players with a severe hamstring cramp. So you think he's going to outrun SEC defenders at 6'4 235/240 pounds? No chance. I want him throwing darts - not taking shots from future NFL defenders looking to decapitate him. Comparing his running ability between the SEC and Indiana high school football is unrealistic.

I can agree with where you are coming from. He does need to improve on his passing if he wants to be successful in the SEC. I think Sanders will get his passing game going, he'll be ok.
