August 15, 200818 yr All indications are that Morgan Newton, a 5 Star recruit on Scout, a high 3 Star on Rivals, will be choosing UK within the next week.... it seems that the committment of Mossakowski not only didn't eliminate UK in the Newton sweepstakes, it made him push more towards the Cats with the opportunity for competition. If in fact newton chooses UK he will have chosen them over Florida, Clemson, Indiana, Purdue, and Illinois. He also has offers from South Carolina and Miami. To catch a glimpse of what this kid looks like his team will be playing on ESPN on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 1:00 PM (EST).
August 15, 200818 yr What do we do if Newton commits? Obviously, we will take him with open arms, but we'll have two very good quarterbacks and one of them will have to be on the bench. I have a weird feeling that with Moss, Newton will commit somewhere for that reason.

I read somewhere that Newton said he isn't going to back down from going to a school with a good QB or a good QB coming in also saying that he will see competion whereever he goes.

If it's true that he's down to UK and Florida, both have 4 star QB's already committed in the same class.
August 15, 200818 yr Is Indiana in the mix at all? If he wants to be the MAN, one would think he would go there.

August 15, 200818 yr UK is starting to get known for producing NFL QB's. Couch, Lorenzen, Boyd, Woodson have all played in the NFL and Sanders has coached Woodson and Peyton Manning. Also, Joker's first game as offensive coordintor replacing Ron Hudson was the UT game in 05. Our offense has been great since.
