August 23, 200818 yr I forgot to watch this game...dang! Is Kentucky recruiting any big time wide receivers?
August 23, 200818 yr I'd say he's a true pocket qb from the little I've seen. One of the big reasons he chose UK was for the "pro-style" system.
August 23, 200818 yr UK got a lot of pub during the game today. Dr. Newton was effusive in his praise and doing a little recruiting. Newton was solid. Has a real nice arm. Scouts think Mossakowski has the second best arm in the QB crop...would love to see some live footage of him. All in all a good day. As for receivers, UK is very high on the LeRod King kid they got a verbal from...I am sure they will not turn some bigger names down.
August 23, 200818 yr Newton looked good. Moves well, especially for a kid 6'4" and over 220lbs. 2 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs. I like what I saw from this kid.
August 23, 200818 yr Morgan Newton is a good looking prospect. He and his father are good interviews and both are very well spoken and poised. Looks like a great catch for the Cats!
August 23, 200818 yr So is he a five star or three star? Both... 3 on Rivals and 5 on Scout...IMO he is a legit 4 star prospect. Rivals only gives out 5 stars to 25 prospects in each class.
August 23, 200818 yr Looked good early, later on not so impressive but I'm sure that was due to the heat. I will say this though, as good as Newton looked at times, I still stand firmly in my beliefs that Mossakowski is better. The program will be in good hands with either one, but from what I have saw Moss is for real, and Texas football is more intense than the Indiana circuit although Carmel is nationally ranked.
August 23, 200818 yr Couple decent Mossakowski vids...... http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=69893
August 23, 200818 yr I can hardly believe the fortunes of the Cats with these 2 kids. We are actually having conversations about a quarterback battle in the future with legit top-notch prospects!

I am of the belief that Mossakowski might never step on the UK campus as a player, due to several factors. One is professional baseball. The other is Morgan Newton.
