Funny store I can recall from a few years back was from one of the best high school athletes that has came from this area. Anyway it was the District Championship, and he was on the bump pitching for a top seed in the Regional tourney. His other position was SS.

Anyway a day or so before the game he came down with a severe cold, or flu. He was taking antibiotics, and things of that nature but of course those take day's to actually work the bug out. So pretty much it was almost time to play the game and he was so sick he barely could walk, much less pitch against the best hitting team in the Region. So, his mother or grandmother one resorting to an old recipe (lemon, honey, whiskey......heated) deliver him a little hot toddy. Well he said it didn't help, so hot toddy led to hot toddy, led to hot toddy and eventually he was feeling good, real good actually. So instead of struggling through the game with the flu, he actually stumbled through it and picked up the win pretty much playing half drunk (or maybe even more :D)

Just always a classic story that always cracks me up.:lol:

Ok, here is my experience with a "hot tottie";

My youngest was probably 8 months old with terrible head congestion. Anyone with an infant knows that when they are congested it can be very scary. He had been suffering for a few days and nothing was working. If anything it was getting worse. I was affraid to lay him down fearing he would choke on the congestion. About 9 p.m I called our family Dr. He's one of those "old school" Dr's. You know the ones. When you go to the office you get a shot and by the next day you feel better. Not like today's Dr's where they give you a perscription for amoxicilan (sp) and in two weeks your back at the Dr.'s office no better. Anyway, I call the Dr. and he said fix him a hot tottie. A shot of bourbon, lemon and honey and get as much as he will take in him. Then he said fix yourself one. It was a miracle. It was the first night in a week that he slept and I slept on the floor next to him and I actually slept. From that point on he continued to get better. He only had the one hot tottie, I haven't stopped.:D

My grandfather used to make "cough syrup" that he kept on hand out of the ingredients for hot toddies. When I was a little girl, my sister and I used to spend the summers at my grandparents, and we always had a "cough" and had to have some of PawPaw's special cough syrup. :lol: We had no idea why, but we always felt better after a dose of PawPaw's medicine. :lol:

That's awesome! I love the story. Now I know why LN's never congested. Your method must also be preventative medicine......:thumb:;)

Any update?

You haven't gone in for one of those California TMJ exams have you?:confused::D

Move to Arizona, your sinuses will be as dry as a popcorn fart.
You haven't been around me when I eat popcorn. Maybe it's all the Coke used to wash it down. There's generally not a dry eye in the house. The sinuses clear, though. :thumb:
A shot/sipping of bourbon/whiskey cure a head cold/sinus issue?

Bourbon doesnt cure anything but snake bite but the line to get to the snake is to long in our town!!:D

Eating a bunch of oranges helps too

Unless you're like me and get sores on the inside of your mouth from too much citric acid.... Grrr I love OJ, and it helps alot when you're sick. However my mouth can only take soo much and then the citric acid starts eating away at it. It sucks.

OJ also helps alot with hangovers!:D
