Griffey drew a walk in the 8th and was pulled for pinch runner Brian Anderson. Anderson then played center in the 8th and 9th. I suspect Ozzie might do that quite a bit late in games. It's a smart decision to do it for Soriano, it's smart if Ozzie can do the same.

He has said before the game that he was nervous because they are a contending team and he didn't want to let them down. That is a sign of a truebaseball player and love of the game, not money.

That is a sign of a truebaseball player and love of the game, not money. #3 was Harold Baines number and that is retired. #24 is Joe Crede's number, who just started a rehab assignment #30 is Swisher's number, he offered it to Griffey and Jr said no. He said he just wanted to try and blend in and get to know everyone. He also made a great comment after the game that he had heard Swisher wasn't "all there" to begin with and didn't want to start anything. :lol: Say what you want about Ozzie, but the Sox are a very tight nit group and I hope Griffey can fit in and have a great time these last two months.
