Thought this was interesting out of Mr. Pierce. Hope this isn't old news but I hadn't seen it on the board yet.

I know PP had a better showing in the finals, but he's not better than Kobe.

PP needs to concentrate on the shine on his ring and not give boneheaded answers like that one. Conceited? I havent heard that word since 7th grade.

Pierce had a better series than Kobe. Does that make him the best player in the world? Pierce isn't even the best player on his team.

Pierce needs to wake up out of that dream and apologize to Kobe for "dreaming" that he's the best player in the league. I agree that he's not the best player on his own team. Frankly, I don't think he was the clearcut MVP of the finals. I thought Ray had a better series overall.

That may not be the politically correct answer. Or the correct answer period for that matter. But I like the answer. Confidence is a huge part of being successful in sports or anything for that matter. He definitly doesn not lack the confidence to take big shots in big games and win. He played his butt off the entire playoff run. While he maybe a little off, I believe his attitude helps him be more successful.

I'm fine with what he said...Shoot he'd be stupid to say he wasn't the best...It takes confidence to win and he's showing confidence in himself.

 

probably every child has also been told that he or she was the best at something even though it may not be true so no reason to fault him either...People who get mad or tore up over this...I feel for them!

I have no problem with what Pierce said. I agree with LMB...he should be a confident player.

 

My guess is that Paul Pierce may be the only person in the world who thinks he's better than Kobe Bryant. I'm not sure why this would bother anyone...

 

This one really isn't a debate, but for argument's sake...Pierce couldn't even lead his team to the playoffs in a weak conference when he had to carry the roster. In the much tougher western conference, the only season the Lakers missed the playoffs was the season after Shaq left and Kobe missed 16 games with injuries.
