My guess is that Paul Pierce may be the only person in the world who thinks he's better than Kobe Bryant. I'm not sure why this would bother anyone... This one really isn't a debate, but for argument's sake...Pierce couldn't even lead his team to the playoffs in a weak conference when he had to carry the roster. In the much tougher western conference, the only season the Lakers missed the playoffs was the season after Shaq left and Kobe missed 16 games with injuries. :thumb:

But, having listened to interviews with him over his time in the league, I am of the opinion that he's a small fry shy of a happy meal anyway. LeBron doesn't even say he's the best, he says Kobe is. To me, that's what makes me admire LJ more. And Pierce isn't in the same area code as LeBron, unless you're asking Pierce.

"Yeah we got real lucky Kobe had an off series" It wasn't that I didn't guard him well enough, he just missed shots" I like that he has the confidence to say he's better. He did win the ring.

As long as they only have 2 or 3 good teams, the conference as a whole is going to be inferior. The depth of good, quality, competitive teams has been better in the west this entire decade. Significantly better for the most part...
