August 2, 200818 yr It doesn't matter how many they win. As long as they only have 2 or 3 good teams, the conference as a whole is going to be inferior. The depth of good, quality, competitive teams has been better in the west this entire decade. Significantly better for the most part... While I agree, if the East keeps winning titles that "inferior" tag doesn't hold as much water.

If the best team happens to be in a clearly weaker conference, it doesn't make that conference better because that team wins. The western conference, as a whole, has been significantly better than the east for a while now and that's not likely to change anytime soon. We do, however, tend to lose sight of the fact that just because one conference is clearly superior, it doesn't mean their best team will automatically win against the other conferences best.
August 4, 200818 yr West is overall the better conference because of the quality of teams. More good players playing with good players in the West even though the East is catching up with the West. East did have the best team this year but West has best overall conference. Teams like the Magic is up and coming and if the Cavs improve would help.
