I felt it; it was pretty strong here in San Diego. I'm on the fourth floor of an office building and all the information signs suspended from the ceiling were swaying.

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake has struck just east of Los Angeles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake's epicenter was about 2 miles southwest of Chino Hills and about 5 miles southeast of Diamond Bar, the USGS said. The center was about 7.6 miles deep. A 5.8 quake is considered by the USGS to be "moderate," which can cause slight damage to buildings and other structures.

So it must not have been too bad.

Let me tell you from experience (I lived in Southern CA from 87 - 93), a 5.8 is not really a big deal to the natives. It sounds big, but those are fairly common and really don't provide that much of a shake, unless they last a while. Now if you want to really shake, rattle, and roll, try, oh let's say.....a 7 or so!!:scared:

The networks are trying desperately to make this into a major catastrophe. They're all wandering around looking for something that's even slightly out of order. In fact, they have helicopters on Fox & CNN circling what appears to be a minor water main break. And it probably happened two hours before the quake.

And I'm sure the gas companies will find a way to justifiy rasing prices because of this.
