July 29, 200818 yr Oh wow. Ok I am n ot one to complain, I usually let things slide. But Last night made me angry. We went to Kings Island last night. We didn't go until 5pm b/c it was cheaper. Well We bought our ticket, go through the medal detectors, then we see a sign of 4 rides that are closed. Not that big of a deal. Well by the time we went into the park we later find out that 10 of the main attractions are closed due to an electrical problem. Which made all the lines of the other open rides VERY long. We, no lie, only rode 1 ride. My sister and her friend only rode 2 rides. On top of that, we went to get on the beast at 8pm, b/c the line was way long before. And we find out its now closed and people in line, we told to leave the ride. When I asked workers what was going on, most said they had no clue, and others didnt even know that rides were closed. Keep in mind when I called today to get a price, they NEVER mentioned that there was problems that day. Well I go to Guest relations to obviously complain, and it was jammed packed of people with the same complaint. They were doing nothing to help us. they said the best thing we could do was fill out a complaint form, and that the GM would look at them all before he left that evening. No promise of a rembursement, free tickets. NOTHING. The workers in guest relations stated that they new all day that certain rides were closed, and they felt that placed the signs appropiatly. UM wrong.....after the tickets were purchased and you went half way in...then we saw the sign of only 4. And not counting all and most that purchased their tickets online. I am so mad, only b/c we drove 40 min to ride one and paid $14 to wait almost 2 hrs for 1 ride. RIDICULOUS. I just needed to vent lol.:argue:
July 29, 200818 yr And vent you should. I'd stay on them like a fly on a corn dog that had been in a trash can for a week.
July 29, 200818 yr Ridiculous! Im with LN...I would continue to be a thorn in their side and see if you can get another day out of it.

July 29, 200818 yr Wow girl...give them heck. You don't deserve that at all!!! I got upset just reading your post. With the price of gas, how hot it was, and trusting thier place to be honest...well, I think they should give you more than just a refund!
July 29, 200818 yr I am with all of the others here, you got hosed. Stay on them. You have every right to be mad. Let us know if you get any results out of this. By the way ln, loved the corn dog statement, I have a similar one about a fly but yours was suitable for print on bgp, mine not so much. (I don't think they want the wrath of a "ticked" off BGP group coming down on them.....don't make me come down there. :madman:)
July 29, 200818 yr I agree with all of the above. No doubt MANY people were asking for refunds, so they are probably trying to skirt the issue. In reality, it would not hurt the park much to give out free passes. The season is almost over, no doubt they have already made tons of money and most patrons spend outrageous amounts of money for food and drink there. Also, I would go over their heads. Who owns Kings Island? I know it isnt Paramount any more. Send a detailed letter/email to as many people as you can find to complain to. Good Luck! IMO Kings Island was run MUCH better about ten years ago. We had season passes there and loved it. We did notice as the years went by, season pass holders were offered less and less.

And to go farther on that. If they just gave us 4 free tickets for $15 a piece. That is only $60, and we will more than likely spend a $100 there. I was telling the Mrs last night that I think they would rather give out a couple thousand free tickets, than have their name in the newspaper for this. I think they will do the "smart" business thing, and just give out free tickets.....I hope.

July 29, 200818 yr I wouldn't let up either..I'd just keep calling and calling..I'd even say that you're planning on writing a letter to your newspaper about the issue and that they've agreed to put it in there. They'll end up giving in, in some way!

I would venture to say that you and your friends won't go back this season otherwise, so by giving you the free tickets, they get you back, where you will put down money for food, drinks, etc. It really would be the "smart" business thing for them.

That is a great point, and you are probably right about us not going back otherwise. We just called again to continue our complaining, and the "supervisor" said they aren't compensating any tickets.:irked: MrsFF has now emailed Cedar Fair. We will see that gets us. She did mention that we would consider not coming back. I am willing to make this ugly.
July 29, 200818 yr ^ Keep going at it hard...Talk to the higher ups if you have too...Threaten it as a legal issue.
