Swim coaches at Estill. He was a senior in 1988.

 

I forgot Tony Morales on the 1988 team. He was probably the best of the group.

 

Russell Alred, one of our local judges, was the star on the 1989 team (Tim Saylor's first at Cawood) and played football at Centre. Tony Allen was the top lineman, and Shane Peck was a good linebacker.

 

Neither group would rank among the top five at Cawood though.

 

Some of the Cumberland teams in the 1990s had a bunch of great prospects (Massey, Tinsley, Ravizee, Baskin).

Tony Morales is living in Corbin these days and working for the cable company. I'm pretty sure it's him. I used to see him at the Fitness Center.

 

I also remember Corbin playing those Cumberland teams of the 90's. How Randy Frazier didn't win a Class A state title is beyond me. The Duckworth kid was as good of a high school quarterback that was around back them other than Couch. Ravizee was the running back correct? Didn't he go to Morehead and recruited by UT very hard? Massey was solid as can be at UK along with Tinsley and Baskin at EKU. Who was the other running back for Cumberland in the 90's? He was unbelievable. I'm wanting to think his name was Dixon?

Tim Dixon was a RB in the mid 90's.... I believe that he had a couple of 1,000 yard seasons.

Jake Anderson made the Ky all stars in either 03 or 04, Larry Kirksey has a super bowl ring and a ncaa national champ ring , 49ers and Alabama. The year of the two games for two different teams was 77. and he was in outlaws father's wedding as a ring bearer, and an usher, that cat was versatile.

Frank Mcdaniels in 78, only one that signed, Gary Grant walked on and got some time in a few games. Sorry but all of these things happened before HDE's time and he can't be held responsible.

The all-state first team is a great question because almost always people will say a Saylor or Hensley and a few others. Barrett was the only 1st team all state from Cawood. Good job HDE!
