I dont know anything about the internal workings of the FC program, however, I was at the first half of that Ryle game and I have never seen a team fall apart as they did in that game. If I remember right, the first 5 offensive "touches" resulted in four turnovers.... Lets hope that they can overcome this and get back on track.

HC has a lot of defensive starters returning, rather it be X or Trinity, they may have the defense to stop those high power offenses. Can HC put up points, thats a different story all together.

 

I truly believe it will play out a X and T thing but I hoping for an upset this year!!! Wishful thinking on my part.....

 

By the way, Im a NKY guy, I have my hands full with the CCH vs Highlands thing and when you add BG and JH in the mix WHO KNOWS!! Just trying to show some lov to my Lexington folk.....:thumb:

I really think Henry Clay will continue to score points this season. Maybe not as many as the last three Blue Devil squads, but enough points should be scored. I don't see any dominating team in Lexington 6A and feel each of these teams will knock each other off during the upcoming regular season. The district is the tightest I have seen in a while in Lexington.

 

I honestly think Henry Clay will have much better match ups and thus, a much better chance of beating St. Xavier than they do Trinity. Trinity's offense is very balanced......St. X's is not. St. X does not throw enough or well enough to keep Henry Clay's defense guessing. Trinity has thrown and run at will versus Henry Clay in the playoffs for three straight years. I don't see that changing even with many returning defensive starters for the Blue Devils. The defensive scheme versus balanced teams must change.

 

I do agree with most BG Prepster's opinions that 6A is very two team top heavy this season.....even more so than in the past. I do not see a threat to either of the dominating Jefferson County private schools in 2008.

What is Boone returning this year to put them in the top 10? By no way am I putting down my former high school, I just didnt think they were returning much this year. Is it just people from below NKY not knowing and putting them up there b/c they usually are amongst the pack at the end of every season?

I think that allot of you have forgot that Coach Beatty is still at Rock Heaven and as long as that continues the Rocks will end up #1

Actually, compared to last year, Henderson should be twice as good. Of course that would mean only 4 wins but they will definitely be better then last year. I also don't think they are top ten either.

Beatty should be recognized for being the best high school coach on the field in the history of Kentucky high school football for his success over the last 7 years. 3 years with Brohm as a leader certainly helped. But ....I honesty think that 2-3 year starters Robey, Weitlauf, and the Dutton twins plus the best season TD passer in Trinity history ( Stein ) will be missed. With only Kapthammer coming back as a starter on the offensive line, it will tough early for Superman to find daylight like he did against Cincy St Xavier last year. In the end, who knows what 2008 will bring. Understand that Weitlauf was calling the defensive signals on the field as a sophomore in the 2005 championship game. Someone can be faster and bigger than him this year but his leadership and knowledge of the game was essential to T's success the last three years. Does Trinity have a rah rah leader to take his place? Time will tell.

You always seem to make a good point. Can a larger, faster person take over the leadership Weitlauf and Deeds had on defense and can Robey, Griffin and Kupper (all 2 yr starters) be replaced to block for superman? The answer is YES. They may have more rah rah leaders on this team. I saw a few guys after practice taking some leassons from this years cheerleading squad. Besides the rah rah, they may even show us how to do the splits.
