July 23, 200818 yr So Votto hit Fogg in the mouth with a batted ball during BP, causing Fogg to get 30 stitches. Ouch. Where was Fogg? How can you not be paying attention while BP is taken place?
July 23, 200818 yr This team should be a game or two over .500 right now. :irked: They would be at least .500 if not for the two blown saves by Co Co on this homestand. They could be 5-1 after the break instead of 3-3.
July 23, 200818 yr I've been very encouraged the way Cueto has pitched his last several starts, and by the way Bailey has pitched his last two. Bailey seems to really be maturing mentally. Let's hope that trend continues. It will be very interesting to see how Jocketty reshapes this team from now until next February.

One thing I've liked about Bailey lately is that, while his last two outings have been solid, he's not satisfied. He has come off the field unhappy with his performances. IMO, he no longer has the 'happy to be here' mentality and wants to get it done...

George Grande mentioned last night how Bailey had watched film of the previous night's games, and realized how he had missed location on several of his pitches the night before. I think he's finally realized that he's not in high school anymore, and that he has to work just as hard as everyone else to be successful at the ML level.

July 23, 200818 yr I was going to ask about Javy starting two in a row, but after seeing his avg. up tp .237 it is now clear to me. Hopefully Bronson's breaking balls won't have to much bite to them today.
