I have the fear of my teeth breaking and chipping off. I often have nightmares of my teeth crumbling.

At age 52, I've driven a standard exactly twice; both when I was 20. My best friend was recovering from a hernia operation, and had to go for a couple of checkups before he was allowed to resume driving. I had to drive him in his car, a Ford Maverick, with three speeds on the column (see, I sort of sound like I know the lingo), to the hospital in downtown Baltimore where he worked, for his checkups. Talk about baptism by fire.
