I think Rampage won round 3, 10-9. He put Forrest on the ground, hit him with punches and nearly power-bombed him when breakin the triangle.

 

Round 3 was very very close. I gave it to Forest because I though he landed more during the exchanges but thats a round in my eyes that could go either way.

 

Also I believe the triangle and near power bomb wasnt until round 4 which I gave to Rampage.

Tito won the first round but it is quite possible that Forrest won the next two. And the people I'm talking about who think that Forrest won are not Dana White and Joe Rogan.

 

They are rightfully hyping Griffin up now. He has beaten two of the best LHW's in the world consecutively.

 

Jardine is far from garbage. He's not a top contender but he is good. He could beat anyone on any given night because he's got great stand up. He just has a weak chin.

 

I can see your argument. It was very close, but apparently the judges agreed with me in that Forrest won the fight. At first I thought it was really close, but after re-watching it I do think that Forrest won the fight.

 

I never saw the Tito fight live but watched in on the net and thought to myself that Forest got robbed in that decision. I thought he won rounds 2 and 3 that fight.

I was reading an article today that says two judges gave round 1 to Forrest. I can't believe that. Rampage easily took round 1, stuff like this is why I am skeptical of the decision.

Forest controlled most of that round (prolly first 4 min) til he got caught with the upper cut. I scored the round for Rampage because of the knock down but I dont think he won it as easy as most people think.

They aren't protesting to change the decision though. They do want an immediate rematch instead.

Depends on what you call a lot. He landed more than Forrest. Come to think of it, did Forrest land a punch the whole fight?

 

I agree the submission "attempts" do earn points, but not more than punches. I am not saying Rampage dominated the round but I think he won it. Especially since he broke the submission hold with a near power-bomb, which also earns point, IMO.

 

I like both of these fighters for different reasons. I watched this fight without actually pulling for either one. The fact is who ever controls the majority of the fight usually wins the fight when it goes to a decision. Forrest was the agressor during the entire fight with the exception of the first round when he got rocked. For what ever reason Rampage let Forrest stalk him the entire fight which made it look like foresst was pushing the pace. Forrest also got the better of the ground game when it went there. Forrest stuck to his game plan staying at a distance throwing punches and kicks while Rampage only closed the gap a couple times per round. I think Rampage was looking for that one good combination that would take Forrest out (he almost had it in round 1) but it never came and this costed him the decision. If he would have pushed the pace and made Forrest fight on the inside he would have won this fight! IMHO! Congradulations Forrest you will make a good champion as those before you did.

From what I've read, the winner of Liddell/Evans is next in line...which is great, as long as Chuck takes care of business. If he doesn't, a Rashad Evans vs. Forrest Griffin title match doesn't have a big ring to it.

 

I'd like to see Rampage fight Wanderlei and Shogun in the cage.

 

I'd also like to see Chuck fight Wanderlei and Rampage again.

 

If Dan Henderson moves back to LHW, as he should, then that opens up a whole new list of fights.

Anderson Silva stated recently that he wouldn't stay at 205 for long. He said he was moving up to fight Irvin as a "favor" to Dana White.

He could beat any of those guys on any given night IMO. They might have an advantage but his stand up is as good as all of those names you listed if not better. And if they took him down, they'd have to be careful or he'd submit them. He will be a smaller 205 but he would still be dangerous and a contender IMO.

I agree, except for Henderson, I think he is better suited at a lighter weight. But I'm not a big fan of immediate rematches. I also think Forrest isn't worth paying money to watch unless he's fighting another person I like to watch. There are a lot of great matchups in the LHW division waiting to happen, I just hope they get to them quick.

Anderson Silva is one of the best pound for pound fighters in MMA. I simply believe that he'd be a pretty good light heavy weight and contend for a title at that weight class too.

I know some fighters have cut 30 lbs in the past, but not a lot as it is almost devastating on the body, especially at 30+ years old.

 

He is also just 3-2 at 205, as that is what he fought at in PRIDE.
