Well, I didn't have high hopes for this movie, but was very pleasantly surprised. The first 50 minutes are pretty funny and have some excellent special effects. Then the movie takes a surprise twist and the story develops in a way I didn't expect. It is an entirely different spin on a superhero type movie.

 

Excellent movie. Stronger language than you would normally see in a Will Smith movie, but nothing too bad beyond the PG-13 rating.

I have expected it to be good since I saw the 1st preview...Probably be seeing it next weekend.

I saw that the movie got some horrible reviews but I still went and saw it and thought it was pretty good. You were right though, the first 45-50 minutes was pretty funny and then kind of takes a, what I thought was a weird turn, but I still thought it was pretty good. Not as good as Wanted though, IMO.

My little brother went and saw it the other night and kind of gave me the same type of review that you did MT...almost exactly actually, lol. I will probably eventually see it, but I am glad to hear people say that it is better than it's reviews.

I definitely didnt see the "twist" in the movie coming... That was definitely unexpected.

Twists in movies that no one expects are the best kind most of the time.

Very good Movie. Will Smith is an outstanding actor!

I thought it was great. Excellent plot with plenty of laughs and a serious side as well.

I am not sure if anyone else could have pulled it off like Smith. He is a very talented individual.

 

As far as reviews go, ... I have seen many movies with great reviews that I thought were duds and have seen others with horrible reviews that were pretty good. I guess they are just opinions and just like certain parts of the human anatomy, everybody has one!

I loved the movie. Great plot and an excellent story...Great twist in the second half of the movie and it had a great ending...Would love to see a sequel to this movie..Will Smith and Charlize Therron was great in this movie!

Going to see it tonight. Woot woot!!

I was totally surprised it got so many bad reviews. I thought it was very good and was well written. I don't know if it was just Will Smith but it was a very good movie.

Finally saw this one just a couple hours ago and it definitly exceeded my expectations. Just as everyone has mentioned previously, the twist was abrupt but I thought it to be a pretty cool development for the story. This movie surprised me from the stand point of how well Will Smith can come into a character, so to speak. It almost reminds me of his early days of MIB, but also portrays a serious character; one that you would find in I am Legend. Great Movie.

Just saw it and agree. Was expecting a flub when I heard it was about a jerk superhero. The twist and development make it an excellent movie. Even my wife liked it.
