July 5, 200818 yr Why? Pitching is hard to find. Who would take his place? He will be a great 3 or 4 guy next year. So, unless they can get a lot out of him, might as well keep him.

The player they were going to get from the Phillies would have solved a lot of problems on the offensive side of the ball for this club. Arroyo is not worth what his salery will be next season. It's something like 9.25 million then 11 million the year after that. The Reds need to trade him now for whatever they can get.

July 5, 200818 yr [/b] Will be shocked if he isn't dealt. Trading away starting pitching on a team that doesn’t even have a 5th starter does not add up. The Reds would then need a 4th and a 5th starter. It is not like the Reds have all these pitchers in AAA knocking on the door. Unless of course you prefer Fogg types and Homer Baily’s getting beat up.
July 6, 200818 yr Author You could get a 4th and 5th starter for what Bronson will make next year. I think Thompson will be ready for one of those roles by next year...

They still havent given Maloney a chance in the big leagues. Personally, I believe he will be in the Majors next season. As will Daryl Thompson. The rotation should look like this next year: Volquez, Harang, Cueto, Maloney, Thompson.
July 6, 200818 yr I think Thompson will be ready for one of those roles by next year... Agreed, thats a lot of moeny to be spent else where. Or Maloney who has been great lately.
