July 3, 200818 yr Who was that remark intended for? Welsh was speculating on what ole Dick Pole might have said to Thompson during his visit to the mound in the 1st. Just struck me as funny.
July 3, 200818 yr Why does Baker leave thompson in after getting hit so much at the start? The Reds battle back to take a short lead , but he leaves Thompson in. Pirates must love seeing the Reds on the schedule. Bullpen's been getting a lot of work. They really need the starters to get deeper into the games, and heaven forbid a complete game would be a miracle.
July 3, 200818 yr Wow 2nd to last in batting avg. in major leagues. How long does BJ keep his job?:irked:

July 3, 200818 yr Author Why was this homestand so important? Because they had a chance to reverse the trend against bad teams and get close to .500 as we near the break. So far, not so good...
July 3, 200818 yr Because they had a chance to reverse the trend against bad teams and get close to .500 as we near the break. So far, not so good... If we categorize the Buckos as bad, what does that make our beloved Redlegs?
July 3, 200818 yr Why was this homestand so important? They were coming off their first winning road trip in nearly 2 years, they were playing 2 teams on this homestand that they were "capable" of beating. Now they need to sweep the Nationals to make this a successful homestand. How frustrating is it though, last year the Reds would have been probably at or over .500 with a solid bullpen, NOW they get a solid pen this year and they have a hard time even getting in position to use it.

July 3, 200818 yr Worse... Sad indeed. We have discussed in the past what this club needs to do to right the ship. Where are we now in regards to that? If I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, I fear it is a train.

July 3, 200818 yr Fast forward to the end of the Dunn/Griffey era and see where things stand with an actual GM pulling the strings... We are in total agreement:thumb:
July 3, 200818 yr Fast forward to the end of the Dunn/Griffey era and see where things stand with an actual GM pulling the strings... If this Team still has the same look after the All Star I will be:confused::scared:and:irked:
July 3, 200818 yr If this Team still has the same look after the All Star I will be:confused::scared:and:irked: If Arroyo, Griffey, Dunn and Weathers are still with the team after the trade deadline, it means the Reds were asking for too much. Give them away for coupon to Best Buy, I don't care, just get rid of them.
July 4, 200818 yr One more sign that Griffey is a)done and b)should not be in the 3 hole: walking a SS that no one really wanted to get to Griffey. How many 3 hole hitters in MLB have the other team walk the 2 hole hitter to get to them? Sad. Sort of like Mays in 73.
