July 6, 200818 yr Someone needs to call Chrissy in the booth, he has topped himself in stupidity. He ripped on E-5 again for not being at the bag during that bunt to get the runners to 2nd and 3rd. He says this has been a problem for him this year. HE HAS TO CHARGE ON AN OBVIOUS BUNT SITUATION!!!!!!! That ball gets down the line, past the pitcher, it's an infield hit if he isn't there to pick it up. HE CAN'T STAY AT THE BAG ON AN OBVIOUS BUNT SITUATION!!!! My goodness gracious, these two need to be fired, they need to be fired and only allowed to work Girls JV grammar school softball games.

He does flip flop on some things and I noticed that tonight in the 3 innings that I watched. He was giving Phillips a hard time for laying down a bunt in the 8th inning to lead off. He mentioned how it's a small park and how Phillips has home run power (he did hit 30 last year). But I like the fact that Phillips is trying to get something going other than the long ball. BP's biggest problem is that he's trying to hit a home run too often. Regarding the bunt situation: It depends on the manager; however, the Reds should have had the lead runner at 3rd. Edwin should have stayed home - or if he didn't, he should have charged the ball. Personally, I like the 3rd baseman to stay at home. It allows you to have a shot at the lead runner. But, that makes the pitcher responsible for any bunt down the 3rd base line. That is NOT a problem, as long as it has been established before the bunt actually takes place. So yeah, I see what you're saying regarding Welsh. But, in this case, you're wrong.
July 6, 200818 yr By the way, sounds like Josh Fogg had a great outing tonight. Unfortunately I missed it; however, I think we need to give him a legitimate opportunity to establish himself in the starting rotation.

Unfortunately I missed it; however, I think we need to give him a legitimate opportunity to establish himself in the starting rotation. He earned it tonight. I think he'll stay in the rotation unless he really starts to get beat around or gets injured. I think they want to give the young arms a bit more time to develop.
July 6, 200818 yr For as much grief as Griffey catches, he made an amazing play in RF tonight with that over the shoulder catch. He got the ball back in quickly, too. Great play by The Kid.
July 6, 200818 yr Fans still love Junior, thats for sure. And opposing managers still fear him with the intentional walk.
