June 13, 200818 yr This to me just proves how Kobe is just not even close to being on Jordan's level. I love Kobe and he is my favorite player in the NBA. IMO, he is the best in the league. I feel Kobe is just as skilled as Jordan on both ends of the court. With that said, Jordan possessed a different set of intangibles that separates himself from virtually all others. There are only a handful on the Mount Rushmore of all-time great basketball players. MJ is up there. Kobe (at least to this point) is in the group just below.

No way, no possible way that MJ would have allowed his team to blow a 24 point lead in a must win home game in the finals. It would not have mattered what other 4 players were out there with him. Actually the teammates weren't the problem in this one--Kobe should bear the brunt of responsiblity. He came up very small, the only way to me he could ever show he belongs in MJ's company now is to will the Lakers back from the 3-1 deficit.

I feel like MJ was able to make everyone else on his team so much better, and most of those players without him were pretty much scrubs or very limited role players. For example... see Scottie Pippen.... Kobe on the other hand is a great individual on a team of underachievers. It seems he lacks those intangibles to elevate everyone else's game.

June 13, 200818 yr Jordan made Scottie Pippen there is no doubt about it. Scottie Pippen is a complete role player that was made a star by Jordan.

Kobe can't keep Gasol and Odom from disappearing at any point in the game. Gosal is the softest big man I have ever seen.
