I knew MMJ would be right up your alley.

There is a band that I like called Foxy Shazam that might be from Campbell County, but there website says they are from Cincinnati. I haven't been able to get any legitimate evidence they are from KY but I heard it.

Chris Knight is the man.

I do enjoy Chris Knight as well...not many know of him...but he is good.

'It Ain't Easy Bein' Me' is one of my favorite songs to listen to...:thumb:

Also, not a Ky guy but Charlie Robinson's song, 'My Hometown' is also a fav. of mine. I dont know, it just seems like those 2 songs have a connection with each other.

Keith Whitley

Ricky Skaggs

A great timeless track from J. D. Crowe's 1978 album "My Home Ain't In the Hall of Fame," his first album to feature his new lead vocalist, a young up-and-coming bluegrass singer and former member of Ralph Stanley's Clinch Mountain Boys by the name of Keith Whitley. When Keith joined the New South, J. D. took their sound in a whole new direction and, one can safely say, as a result, created a whole new genre of music which came to be known as "newgrass," which is characterized by being too country for country but too progressive for straight-ahead bluegrass.

Keith Whitley (R.I.P., one of the most pure country music voices ever imo)

Loretta Lynn

John Connley

Ricky Scaggs

Bill Monroe (R.I.P.)

Dwight Yokum

Tom T. Hall

Does anybody remember Tangent from the early eighties?

Waterproof Blond had some decent singles.

1. Goose Creek Symphony - founder Charlie Gearhart is from Goose Creek, in Floyd County.

2. Tom T. Hall - Old Dogs and Children and Watermellon wine. What's not to love?

3. Keith Whitley - Just great.

4. Bill Monroe - How many people can you identify that founded a genre of music.

5. Rickey Skaggs - Picked up where Bill left off and took it to a new level.

6. Gary Stewart - One of the best honkey-tonk country singers.

7. The Judds. - You can't forget how sweet their harmonies were.

8. Loretta Lynn - For many years she was the female voice of country music.

9. Patty Loveless - An even better voice and some excellent songs.

10. J.D. Crow and the New South - Bridged the gap to modern Bluegrass.

You can't say Honkey without the e.

Really? I've spelled it wrong for 30 years. Not that I've written the word much.

Well I mean you can but not on this site, lol. It's considered a racial slur I'm guessing.
