That's about all I got, lol...just kidding, I am definitely not qualified to answer this question.

 

Other than these two, what qualifications are neccessary? What makes a good president? We've had so many that were so very different that what should be an easy question isn't.

 

However, I disagree with the post that says if W was, Obama is. I don't you can say governor of Texas for several years equates to Illinois state senator for severeal years and a couple years as US Senator. Hugely different backgrounds. That certainly doesn't mean Obama is not up to the job though. JMO.

While I am still an undecided voter, it is really interesting that a Junior US Senator (half of the time of which he has been campaigning for President) and someone that is relatively young is the favorite to be our next President. I am not sure if that speaks more about him, or about less about the Republicans (and the current administration). I am thinking the latter.

Come on oldramber, you are better than that. The man has served in the US Senate for three years. Surely he deserves some credit for that? If time served in the legistlature doesn't count for something, then that will take away many of the qualifications that Sen. McCain has, too.

 

With some of the crap the Senate has done by either passing or not passing I am not so sure :lol:. Anyway, o.k. I will give him that...............maybe.

 

I am not crazy about McCain either, I just respect and admire the man much more than I ever will Obama.

The only change is instead of having a Republican be criticized for ruining our country, he will be a democrat that will be criticized for ruining our country and he will change that our tax dollars will go out of the country more than staying in the country.

 

He isn't lying..changes will be coming...but if he told us what those changes are then he would surely lose the election.

I am not putting any one person down, imo the ones that he influences the most are the younger ones that have not seen and heard all of this through the years before and actually think that the man is sincere. My opinion is that he will say whatever is popular with whoever that he is talking to at the time. A lot of times between the inexprience and listening to their wacko college professors that want to shove their own personal views on to as many that will listen this will cloud ones perception of reality.

I agree with you on McCain. I respect and admire him, too. However, I keep telling myself that I cannot vote solely based on the amount of respect I have for someone. The road to my decision (for whatever it is worth) is going to be a long one, I am afraid.
