I agree with you on McCain. I respect and admire him, too. However, I keep telling myself that I cannot vote solely based on the amount of respect I have for someone. The road to my decision (for whatever it is worth) is going to be a long one, I am afraid.

 

As is mine, I am not crazy about some of Mccains policy either, just that I have absolutely NO respect for B.H. Obama and the fact that Obama will be the Dem cantidate has made it much shorter in that I am sure that I will not be taking that route.

True but Ronald Reagan was also governor of California for 8 years before he spent 5 years running for president, so he had a bit of a history to back up his words. I do think that Obama matches anyone in conveying a new spirit in politics. My concern is whether he can back it up.

That is simply an idealogical difference. You certainly can disagree with any policy, but that doesn't mean the policy is a lie. For example I think it is much worse that the republicans have been running on platforms that they don't match there actions.
