Maybe ZOLLO rumors true?

Downing was a role player last year because that is what the team needed. If State tournament was any indication, Downing will have a breakout year and show everyone how good he really is.

Setty, Pawsat, and Gilbert will all play big roles on the team next year as well, and all three can score. Ryan Hamm is also playing really well with the Shining Stars team this year. Mason County will be good, it is just yet to be determined how good.

I would go out on a limb and say the word you are looking for is average! Mason will be average this year at best !

We'll see about that. Too bad "average" at Mason Co is "great" by the standards of most schools. Mason County will be at least a top 25 team next year and will most definately compete for a 10th region title. I guess that is average compared to a STATE TITLE!

Does scout or rivals have a rating on this kid? I haven't seen anything. How good is he?

Hey Gold, how did Clark County get in the mix of things and is there a connection in Winchester? Family, friends or just an employment opportunity for his mother?

I wonder if it happens to be a coincidence that a 10th Region coach, an executive for WKYT, and a University of Kentucky coach were spotted on a golf course in Lexington durng Lex Cath's team camp.

Oh snap.

After reading some of these posts, all I can say is WOW! Some sour grapes, no way around that statement at all!

LET the KID play, as he, as all high school players, are KIDS!

Edited by SportsGuy41017

A lot of things could happen between now and next March. Never know.

I just think its bad for High School Basketball that players can come and go as they please. It may not be fair for the kids that would have to sit out but it is also not fair to the kids who have to ride the bench and get their minutes stolen by a player who wanted to move for basketball reasons.

Think about all the rules in life that are in place because of the few people that violate them. These rules are in place for the good of everyone. And I think that having a rule to make transfers sit out a year would benefit basketball as a whole.

If the shoe was on the other foot you would feel different about it. The fair thing in any situation is to pick a team based on the top players in the school whether they were there the year before or not and play the players who give you the best chance to win. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Setty move in from Ohio?

I'm sure if he was moving to Maysville this would not be a problem.

Look at Mason County's roster this year. There were kids from Bracken Co. and Ohio just to name a couple of places. I know I am forgetting some other places. But my point is Mason County has been getting talent to move into the area and everything is fine and dandy. But when another 10th region school get some fresh meat. Then some people want to complain. Seems strange to me.

Be careful. When people start making remarks about winning 3 straight regions, it almost assuredly doesn't happen. :sssh:

Clark Co. will have a very nice team, but Mason Co. is going to be good and I believe Montgomery Co. will be very good before long as well.

I like this post as well!

One player doesn't make a team! It takes a group of individuals working together as one cohesive unit!

I agree... Remember the party that Mason Co had planned in 2007? Looking forward to basketball season this year and watching all the talent that the 10th region has.:thumb:

I agree but it's not like GRC will just be relying on one player. Let's not forget they also have Stenzel and Hatton and were going to be one of the favorites with or without Zollo. They have a very good young core of players.
