So what is the offensive outlook? Tates Creek was a running team, so what will be type of offense this new coach will run?

Coach Howell was offensive coordinator last year. Under Harmon he was a position coach.

I agree with the Guru! Possible one of the better jobs in Ky, for sure Central Ky. Just does not make a lot of sense?????

Not a lot of scoring there against some pretty decent competition...not saying it his fault, but these kinds of numbers just don't seem to shout "Hire me!"

 

Don't take this the wrong way, I am not looking to slight the new coach by any means...I am simply pointing out that a high profile job like Dunbar OUGHT to be, sure doesn't seem to be bringing in a high profile replacement...and no, the coach I know would not have been a high profile coach either, but he did coach in the final Four this past year as a coordinator and his defenses were much better than it appears TC's offenses were.

This is in no way a knock on Coach Howell. I wish him all the luck in taking on the Head Coaching position at Dunbar.

 

As I said before, in Fayette County, any coach is required to teach 5-6 classes each day. They fill the needed teaching position first. Obviously, Dunbar has an opening for a Social Studies teacher, since that is what Coach Howell is certified to teach.

 

I would be willing to bet that other outstanding coaching candidates were either unable or unwilling to teach 5-6 classes each day.

 

Just out of curiosity, what is Coach Coverdale at Trinity certified to teach at the high school level? Anyone?

Or maybe Coach Cov is content orchestrating that high-powered Trinity offense to yet another state championship.

Although this is not on topic, but Coach Coverdale (According to the Kentucky Department of Education Website) does not hold a teaching certificate in any subject area.

I wish him nothing but the best too but Dunbar should be one of the most sought after jobs in KY yet they went out and got a coach (who may be a great coach) that didn't even apply.

It will be intersting to see how he handles the Jerrell Greene situation. That is something you don't want starting out as a Head Coach.
