Folks in Jefferson County can't beat the Rocks and the XMen either.....

This is in no way a knock on Coach Howell. I wish him all the luck in taking on the Head Coaching position at Dunbar.

 

As I said before, in Fayette County, any coach is required to teach 5-6 classes each day. They fill the needed teaching position first. Obviously, Dunbar has an opening for a Social Studies teacher, since that is what Coach Howell is certified to teach.

 

I would be willing to bet that other outstanding coaching candidates were either unable or unwilling to teach 5-6 classes each day.

 

Just out of curiosity, what is Coach Coverdale at Trinity certified to teach at the high school level? Anyone?

 

My bet is Dunbar did not have a history teaching position available.........

 

Or maybe Coach Cov is content orchestrating that high-powered Trinity offense to yet another state championship.

 

 

Cov teaches Civics, U.S. History and A.P. European History. Moreover I have sat in and observed his classes as an education student and as an educator I find him to be one of the finest teachers I have ever seen.

Although this is not on topic, but Coach Coverdale (According to the Kentucky Department of Education Website) does not hold a teaching certificate in any subject area.

 

 

That I find hard to believe considering I have seen him in the classroom. I know he is certified in Indiana for a fact since he has been at public schools there. It could be a reciprocal thing that isn't noted on the KDE site.
