NBA admits that foul should have been called on Fisher.

two-shot foul should have been called on Derek Fisher for impeding Brent Barry.

I agree.

Go Lakers...

Television replays indicated that Fisher's shot with 6.9 seconds to go grazed the rim before bouncing out of bounds off of Robert Horry's leg, meaning that the Lakers should have had a new shot clock instead of asking Kobe Bryant to hurry a fadeaway jumper after the ensuing timeout.

The new shot clock likely would have forced San Antonio to foul Bryant as opposed to getting the ball back off Bryant's miss to draw up a potential game-winning play.

Also a huge referee mistake during the game...

"With the benefit of instant replay, it appears a foul call should have been made," league spokesman Tim Frank said Wednesday.

Yeah, the benefit of instant replay allows you to admit it was a foul, one day too late.

I knew it was a foul. I don't know how anyone could deny that...

With the benefit of instant replay a lot of the calls in a game of basketball can be changed.

The NBA needs to get games called fairly. The home team shouldnt be such a huge favorite.

I hope were not going to baby this to death. The Spurs lost, plain and simple. Only if Parker would have scored 2 more baskets or Ginobli has one less turnover. The Lakers were the better team last night...

No one here is babying anything. Simply posting what the NBA said, if you don't want to read it then don't open the thread.

The NBA would also admit that the Fisher shot hit the rim.

Perhaps the NBA should also release the Spurs are not the better team. That way we can go ahead and get to the finals...

The better team doesn't always win (Isn't that the saying?).

Go Lakers!

Anyone with eyes could tell it was a foul..

Get over it, you can't change it now.

I have never understood why the NBA releases these statements.

I guess Stern feels obligated with the cheating scandal from last summer.

Normally I disagree with Skip Bayless on his goofy thoughts, but he has a legit point in this case, imo. Guess who the official was that swallowed his whistle in the game the other night? Joey Crawford. The same Crawford which is more about self promotion than any game he referees and has a disdain for Duncan and the Spurs. Why they assign him to Spurs' games, I will never know. Especially after last season when he was sent home for the season after incorrectly ejecting Tim Duncan.

This goes back to the argument I made in game 1. I thoroughly believe that when Bryant hit the game-winning shot he pushed off to gain an unfair advantage in order to get the shot off. Those fouls are never called, but if you go by the rule book they are fouls. At the same time I don't envy any referee.

Did you not read ScarHeels post before yours? If the refs get the call right that Fisher's shot hit the rim, the Lakers have the ball back with 5 seconds and the Spurs never even get that opportunity as they would have had to foul and would have most likely been down 4 instead of 2.

The Spurs were lucky to even be in that situation. Two blown calls, but the one against the Lakers was definetly the bigger of the two as it allowed the Spurs a chance to win the game.

The game was played at SA..
