Did you not read ScarHeels post before yours? If the refs get the call right that Fisher's shot hit the rim, the Lakers have the ball back with 5 seconds and the Spurs never even get that opportunity as they would have had to foul and would have most likely been down 4 instead of 2.

 

The Spurs were lucky to even be in that situation. Two blown calls, but the one against the Lakers was definetly the bigger of the two as it allowed the Spurs a chance to win the game.

There was also a foul before that on Tony Parker's fastbreak layup. Had he got that free throw and then they got Fisher's call right the Spurs would have been down 3 if Lakers hit their free throws, giving the Spurs a chance to tie. There are a lot of different scenerios to look at.

This goes back to the argument I made in game 1. I thoroughly believe that when Bryant hit the game-winning shot he pushed off to gain an unfair advantage in order to get the shot off. Those fouls are never called, but if you go by the rule book they are fouls. At the same time I don't envy any referee.

Boy, I thought Kentucky wasn't an NBA area, but Pro Basketball really brings out all of your all's claws. A thread on Lakers/Spurs can't go an hour without 15 personal jabs.

I hate when refs put the whistles up in the closing seconds. If it is a foul 2 mins into the game then it's a foul with 2 seconds left in the game. Do your job and make the call. As far as Joey Crawford being the one who didn't call it, there were 2 other refs on the floor as well. And unless I am mistaking Crawford was not the one closest to the play.

My point was you could start talking about the bad calls at the end of the game and go on and on about bad calls throughout. Lakers won. They outplayed the Spurs IMO, and the Spurs were just ice cold. I look for the Spurs to win tonight. And it will be a toss up in game 6.
