Here is an update from Michael Bay:

And tonight, my fourth on set, but the first that brought me face to face with Mr. Voorhees in all his glory - I can tell you without hesitation that every minute of frustration, pain and misery was worth it - really worth it, because tonight Jason Vorhees scared the living crap out of me. No, he didn't threaten me with that huge machete; all he did was look into the camera and every hair on my body stood up. Derek Mears captures the best of the all the Jason's and injects the character with his own element of tangible menace.

In this movie you will see a feral, brutal Jason who is determined on killing in astonishing ways. And tonight our director, Marcus Nispel, constructed a shot of Jason as he is about to strike' that is when I got scared. The shot is iconic in its construction. It's our "Batman" or "Spiderman" shot and when you see the movie you will know exactly what I am talking about. It is the single shot that tells you everything you need to know about Jason.

More to come. It is scheduled for release on Feb. (friday) 13th, 2009

BOOOOO!!!! Not another remake. Can you remake perfection?

BOOOOO!!!! Not another remake. Can you remake perfection?

It's really not a remake, but still sorta is. Although they are remaking the movie it's not about Ms. Voorhee's being the killer but about Jason being the killer, plus he'll be wearing the hockey mask which didn't come in till part 3.

So it's like a combination of 2 and 3 or so.

I think it'll be really good. Towards the end Jason was a laughable character with Friday the 13th: Jason takes over Manhattan and Jason X.

Also Friday the 13th: The New Blood was a complete joke.

They said that Jason will look completely scary and that this movie is more about putting fear into people rather than just teens getting killed.

Jason's new makeover is being kept underwraps for as long as they can.

I might watch but can't see it being any better.

Might be interesting... I hope it is better than fighting Freddy Kruger or being blasted into outer space.

I really really liked the Hallonween remake so I am hoping this is just as good.

Is Hollywood really that lost for ideas that the best the can do now is remake classics that don't need to be remade?

^ It's still not really a remake. It's more of a reimaging. It's like a new Friday the 13th but back when it all started. I wish people would really stop labeling it as a technical remake.

It's like it took place between part 3 and 4.

Shooting is scheduled to wrap up on June, Friday the 13th. Pretty spooky huh? Then it opens next Friday the 13th.

I was a someone's house the other night and a couple of the kids were watching Freddie vs Jason. I got about halfway through it but then had to leave. Could someone tell me who won? I was kind of rooting for ol' Fred.

^ Jason cuts Freddy's head off at the end. But Freddy isn't dead as he makes a face gesture at the end of it.

Can't keep a good (or bad) man down.

Also the kill total in this movie has reached double digits with around 2 weeks of filming left.

After filming is done then we should start seeing a teaser trailer as well as stills from the movie.

The first one's used to scare the crap out of me as a kid along with Freddie + Mike Myers. They all got pretty sad as they went on though. That was a good run of scary movies for awhile though.
