Louisville's Non-Saturday Schedule

Featured Replies

I love the Thurs night game but I think Sat should be the only other day for college football. I HATE Friday night being a game night. Monday nights should be Mon night football and that's it IMO. Tues+Wed are nice because it's another day for me to watch football but it's overkill IMO. Sunday+Mon=NFL to me.

Mon:NFL

Tues/Wed: nothing

Thurs: 1 or 2 college games

Friday: High School Football

Sat: College

Sunday:NFL

Only time it changes is bowl time.

I would be ticked if that was my teams schedule!

As much as I love football, I'm with stick1 on this one. Thursdays and Saturdays are great, but it's getting a little too saturated for me with college games almost everyday of the week.

I will concede this, from what I have heard U of L could indeed refuse the Thursday night games (or Friday, Sunday, or Wednesday, etc...), but they sacrifice ANY coverage at all. That's not worth it, IMO.

Which is fine. I have no problem with UL playing any time they'd like although, I do not like the Friday night games. I doubt many other poeple do either.

Well the crowds at those Friday night games don't seem to mind too much...

You are correct it's about selling tickets and advertisements.

I can understand wanting to be the only game on TV during primetime as opposed to being in a mix with higher profile games on a Saturday afternoon. I enjoy the Thursday night games, but Friday night games are bad IMO since I would prefer being at a high school game instead....

:thumb:and I will be if I am at any football game on Friday night. Friday nights are for High School. (and there is a U.L. joke in thaere but am going to be nice and refrain :sssh::D)

I would guarantee you there will be a lot of people at the UL game who would be at a high school game if UL wasn't playing and won't be happy about missing it. UL, the Big East, and ESPN can do whatever they want, I am simly criticizing the decision.

If they were that torn up about missing the high school football game, they'd sell their tickets and go. Friday night games obviously don't affect the crowd as much as you would like to think they do.

LOL Considering UL's attendance last year after things got rocky, it would have been wiser for PJ's to book high school games than UL games.

Man, that woulda been a good jab if it were even remotely true.

Rutgers 39612

Other than the Pitt game, last season for as bad as it was did not see a major drop off in attendance.

One sell out out of 6 games and their expanding the stadium?

In their worst season in nearly a decade, and they were above 90% in all but one.

BTW, the Pitt game was a Saturday afternoon game.

Where the majority of home games before last year sell outs? That Saturday afternoon game probably threw you guys off.
