I can remember South Laurel having a lightning quick point guard in 2002 I believe (Riveria maybe) that led that team to the Sweet 16 in a very tough region! They edged out Wayne Co. and North Laurel's international team that year. I went to the region championship game with North and South. That was a great atmosphere!

Not true. Angelo was at Red Bird at least his freshman year of high school. Maybe he grew up in the Clay Co. system, but he wasnt there all 4 years of HS.

I'm just telling you what the original post stated, and using those guidelines they weren't transfers. For what it's worth, Thomas spent the 1st 6 years in the Ashland system before going to Rose Hill for two, and then back to Ashland.

Eric Ely was a good player, but his Bell team could not get by the tigers of Clay. I remember Clay beat Bell at Cawood in 01 and Bell was loaded with talent. That Bell team may have been the most talented 13th region squad in the last 10 years.

I remember watching that game. Asher from Clay was a power inside. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he had 20+ rebounds in either the semis or the finals.
