May 6, 200818 yr I know, I just don't get starting a tread about something you don't want to talk about. I don't talk about the Bengals that often but I start threads about them all the time because I know people on this site like to talk about them. Can you see it clearly now?

May 6, 200818 yr Author That argument is getting old. Of all the millionaires and billionaires in the world, Gore is the one you continue to denounce and argue against because he's trying to make the planet a better place? Give me a break... No, please give me a break. The guy doesn't care about the planet, he cares about his bankroll. I don't mind people making money, more power to them. I'll give him credit though, this may be the slickest scam ever pulled off in the history of man.
May 6, 200818 yr Yeah, but would you help "create the need" for the products with a "documentary" and a book first? Actually Gore was involved in this issue before he was ever VP. I recall reading an article in a Lifeway (then it was Sunday School Board) magazine that was called Ethics. It was an article that dealt with the Environment and Issues surrounding human abuse of the eco system. Just thought I'd mention it.

Let's see....do you have a problem with a washed-up Ted Nugent making money speaking for the NRA? Any problem with automakers lobbying against increased fuel efficiencey standards? Why is it OK to make money on America's insatiable greed for oil, but not in alternative sources? Apparently, capatilism is fine....as long as you're not trying to do good while making money?

I have zero problem with Ted Nugent making money speaking for the NRA. As for the rest....WHAT!? Where did you get these wild notions from? As for doing good. There is nothing we can do to change the cycle of the sun, so...
May 6, 200818 yr Cooling? Now it's cooling!? I just read on the other thread that we are doomed by melting ice. The more I learn about global weather patterns the more I think man knows little more than we did 5,000 years ago about the weather. When I was a kid the talk was of the coming ice age, then the polar caps were going to melt, now the ocean is cooling. I think as stewards of this planet we should do the responsible thing by leaving it as good as we can for the next generations, but I think we have delusions of grandeur if we think that short of an all out nuclear war we could effect the planet either way. Even in the case of an large scale nuclear exchange the planet would clean itself over time and just keep on going, either with or with out man.

May 6, 200818 yr So, am I to assume that his millions have been amassed soley from speaking fees? Has his worth possibily included investments? FWIW, from the Daily Mail: Al Gore has come under fire for making personal gain from his mission to save the planet – after charging £3,300 a minute to deliver a poorly received speech.

I tend to agree with you a lot Rockmom. :thumb: I don't think that is such a bad thing either.

I still can't believe out of all of the people in this country making millions from peoples suffering, Gore is the one you continue to belittle for doing it while promoting a good cause.
May 6, 200818 yr Author From reality. Remember that stuff? Reality would be IF I said those things, which I did not. It's like HB20 saying he doesn't have the need to debate this topic any more, yet he still does. Get rid of that avatar or I bring out the big guns.

Posting in this thread does not = debating .
