May 6, 200818 yr I'm all for as much info either way. I just found it funny that you made that statement and then started a new thread. I have no problem with it, it's one of my favorite topics to argue. Notice I'm not debating that much on either thread. Posting new threads and debating the topic are two different things.

May 6, 200818 yr What's the point then? You made it seem like there was some correlation between me debating on the topic and starting a thread on the topic. I was just pointing out the difference.

May 6, 200818 yr Keeping the environment clean is fine, I just hate seeing the Al Gore's of the world getting their pockets lined by half truths, lies, distortion of facts and flat out guesses. Ummm...he wouldn't be the only politician to do this...or BE doing it as we speak. In general I tend not to follow the "global warming" threads, because I know where I stand on the issue. I am curious though...how much does Gore make and in what capacity? Thanks.

Al Gore left the White House seven years ago with less than $2 million in assets, including a Virginia home and the family farm in Tennessee. Now he's making enough to put $35 million in hedge funds and other private partnerships. Now Gore charges a $175,000 speaking fee and has a net worth well in excess of $100 million. Gore's newfound wealth resulted, in part, from speaking engagements and ties to Silicon Valley firms with soaring stock market values, such as Google Inc. and Apple Inc.

So, am I to assume that his millions have been amassed soley from speaking fees? Has his worth possibily included investments?

To be fair, the tone of your post indicates that Gore is taking his position to make out like a bandit. (A similar claim that critics take of Cheney and the war) It is well known that I am a Christian. If I was a rich Christian, I would invest in products that promoted the message I believed in.

Yeah, but would you help "create the need" for the products with a "documentary" and a book first?
May 6, 200818 yr Yeah, but would you help "create the need" for the products with a "documentary" and a book first? Jesus and God had already beaten me to it. The debate on global warming was already in place before his documentary. Let me qualify and say I don't agree with Gore's position on the issue.
May 6, 200818 yr Yeah, but would you help "create the need" for the products with a "documentary" and a book first? If it was something you believed in, why not?
May 6, 200818 yr Author If it was something you believed in, why not? What he believes in is MONEY.
May 6, 200818 yr  What he believes in is MONEY. That argument is getting old. Of all the millionaires and billionaires in the world, Gore is the one you continue to denounce and argue against because he's trying to make the planet a better place? Give me a break...
