IMO I think Brohm regressed. I am not saying he was horrible or fell off the map, but I just think he took a step back. I like U of L football and was disappointed when they lost to Rutgers the year before.

 

I am asking this to the group? Why was Ryan the consensus #1 QB in the draft by scouts and teams? Why was he rated over Brohm?

 

Because his team won games when a lot of others started to fall. Heck he was the Heisman favorite late in the year. He also stayed healthy for five years at BC, that's says a lot. I am not sayin Ryan is bad, I simply think that he is considerably below Brohm's skill levels. I think that will be shown throughout their careers.

LMB, in fairness just because he only threw 19 int's in two seasons, doesn't single handily make him a great decision maker. He has been known since high school to hang onto the ball for way, WAY too long.

Ryan didn't have many targets, but 19 is a TON.

Say whatever you want, but it was definitely a mistake.

 

This young man completed his college education. He stayed because he is a very dedicated individual to others, family and himself. If for some reason the NFL does not work out he will have an education to fall back on...unlike others that you see in pro sports. There is NO mistake it what this young man did.

Well then we disagree. If for some reason the NFL didn't work out had he left early, he could go back for a couple semesters and finsh. In a way, I admire any athlete that passes on the money to come back to school, but this one turned out to be a mistake IMO.

Brohm fans should be glad he was not the top QB in the draft. Atlanta is going to be bad for a while.

Hes also been known to shred some of the best defenses in college football from time to time (Florida, LSU, etc).

 

I understand criticism of Woodson, but IMO he deserved to go much higher!

I think Brohm went to about as good a situation as any rookie QB could hope for...certainly Rodgers is the guy Green Bay wants under center right now, but he is unproven. You never know with QB's in the NFL, so there is a chance Rodgers won't get the job done...or he could get injured. There are decent odds Brohm can get in the picture at Green Bay.

 

I think Aaron Rodgers is going to be a pretty good QB for the Packers. I thought he looked pretty good against Dallas when Favre went down...he's been sitting for a few years now. I think he'll be ready to deliver now that the job is his. Still a good situation for Brohm though, IMO, because I'm not sold that Rodgers will stay healthy.

I'm not even going to try to dig online for the article, but I'll do my best to paraphrase what Brohm had to say in retrospect of last season:

 

"I wanted to come back last year and compete for the national title, but while it didn't turn out that way, I'm a better player than I was a year ago. I don't regret the decision."

 

...Not an exact quote, but he more or less solidified my thoughts on the matter.
