Track the Reds (Week 2)

Featured Replies

And there is about a 70% chance he'd fail. Ouch...

You realize that if the Reds had pinch hit for Cueto that at best only 3 out of 10 times would they get a hit.

And there was about a 95% chance Cueto wasn't going to score the run and I would rather have two guys w/ a 30% chance than 1 w/ a 5% chance and 1 w/ a 30% chance. But I'm no math major. Add that to the fact that he probably wasn't going to finish the next inning and I would have taken my chances w/ Hatte.

You know Mota is bad when even E-5 won't swing.

Brantley wants Freel to pinch hit, BRING IN HATTEBERG!

I put 5 bucks on him swinging at the first pitch.

Ok, I'll take it...;)

It won't matter when Hopper puts one into the gap fellas.

...Slick.

They conceded an out in the 7th inning of a game they were trailing w/ a runner in scoring position and one out w/ a rookie pitcher who isn't known for hitting. And you said yourself it should have been Hatte. I don't care that he gave up a run. I care that he wasn't hit for.

As you said, it was only the 7th inning. Dusty has to look ahead to the rest of the series, and road trip. The Reds don't have another day off until Monday. There's no need to go to your bullpen in the 7th inning of the 1st game of the trip when your pitcher is still in a groove.

Can't put all the blame on Dusty, players haven't gotten it done. But he hasn't helped things tonight. Goodness gracious.

I clearly didn't agree, but Kueto got the ball in play and moved the runner. Was he stranded at 3rd? No. Mission accomplished. Tie game after 6 1/2. Next...

How many times in baseball is it a persons job to just move the runner to 3rd while conceding the 2nd out? Ouch...Since you're so into statistics tell me what % of the time a guy is asked to give himself up to get a guy to 3rd for the 2nd out? How many times does that guy score when he wouldn't have scored from second anyway? Were they playing for a wild pitch? Why not just bunt if that was the ultimate goal?

Gotta love the clutch hitting. :irked:

I am biting my tongue on Hopper.
