Sure is a surprising first week of the season.

How about that, Pittsburgh and Houston already taking their respective places in 5th and 6th place.

Reds on pace for 110 wins this year. :dancingpa

The Reds 4-2 record came against the other divisions defending champs, correct? That is a nice start.

Correct. Nice start being that they held that Philly offense in check so far.

Cueto will get 2 starts this week. Should be a fun week.

Utley seems good for two every time he plays here... :irked:

Remember when people thought that Homer Bailey compared well with Cole Hamels?

Remember when people thought that Homer Bailey compared well with Cole Hamels?

Those people were clueless to begin with. Bailey never had a change even close to Hamels...

I know this has been addressed ad nauseum, but when does Homer get the call? Will it be late season or will they pull the trigger if Fogg never gets going? Does Homer have to master off-speed stuff before hand or will they let him stand on his fastball until he figures it out up here?

^Matty B will be called up if Fogg is sent down. I really don't see Homer getting up here this year unless we see some injuries.

Barring an injury or some other bizarre freak of nature, Homer might not get the call til the middle of the year or maybe not even til the end of the year.

We know the two kids are going to be up and down, that's expected. We essentially expect Harang and Arroyo to follow precendent. That leaves Fogg and Belisle. Belisle has proven he can win and so has Fogg. So barring an injury, there is no way Homer pitches anytime soon. Which is a great luxury for the Reds, they don't have to rush him and he can take his time getting better.
