April 6, 200818 yr A great career that maybe was tarnished a little bit with his NRA stuff. But that doesn't take away from the great actor he was over a long, long career. :thumb:
April 6, 200818 yr One less vote for McCain. Legendary actor. "Planet of the Apes" is one of my favorite flicks.
April 6, 200818 yr We share the same Birthday... Chubby Checker, Lindsey Buckingham, and I all share the same birthday.
April 6, 200818 yr A great loss of an American legend. Heston was a fine actor and a great man. He is in no pain and suffers no more from that terrible disease. As another has said, he is probably talking with Moses right now about his performance. I especially admired his work away from acting in the NRA. Heston served as president of the NRA for several years and did a very fine job for this organization, he was for what is right with America.............the 2nd amendment just being one. Heston did not go for all of this liberal anti gun trash. Heston's "from my cold, dead hands" speech at a National NRA Convention was one of his best ever on any platform or about any subject. Goodbye to a great man and a great actor. R.I.P. Charlton Heston.

April 6, 200818 yr Heston was one of the people that I admired the most. He stood up to the liberal media and Hollywood, when it was not the most popular stance among people of his profession and stature. He was not only a great actor, but was a great voice for the Constitution and America. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on for many years to come. Charlton, I'll always think of you when I vote to protect the Constitution and America.

April 6, 200818 yr Very well said by both of you. What can I possibly add? He will truly be missed. Thank you and I agree that Heston will truly be missed, we have lost a True American that was not afraid of the more popular Liberal media or his Hollyweird friends. Heston stood up for what he believed in instead of being "puppet" for whatever was the "political correct" thing to do.
April 6, 200818 yr One of my favorite Heston stories was one I heard from Eddie Murphy. He was invited to Heston's place for something. While there he noticed the staff from 10 Commandments in an open case on the wall. Grabbing it he ran out to the pool and hit the water and waved the staff and nothing happened. He turned to Heston and said, "This things broke, it doesn't work!" Heston smiled and said, "It only works for me."
