What happens if Indiana hires...

Featured Replies

What happens if Indiana hires one of Kentucky fans most infamous coach, Rick Pitino.

I know it's very, very unlikely to happen, but what would the perception of Rick Pitino be by Kentucky fans? Would you rather him at Indiana or Louisville? Would he be even more hated since he took the head coaching job at two of our rivals?

I, personally, would like it much better if he stayed at Louisville. Something about Indiana drives me nuts.

At least he would be in another State.

I think he will retire at Louisville...

RP is a great coach. I don't hate him now and I sure would not hate him at IU. RP did a lot for the UK program that will pretty much make me a fan of his until he does something to make me not like him. He did leave UK for what he thought was a better opportunity as most would. He now realizes that it was a mistake to do so. I sure can not blame him for taking the Lville job. Some fans need to get it into their heads that he did not leave UK for Lville. I know a lot who think that way and call him a traitor. I really don't feel IU would pay the money to bring in RP, so I think this is a moot point.

:thumb: I also think he will retire at Lville. I think RP has done all he needs to do to prove he can coach. He is an Elite Coach.

What would be the difference?

IU/UL in most Cats fan's minds would be about the same.

Not really that different if you ask me.

He's not going anywhere, though. Why leave the 'Ville for an unknown mess?

Here's a question. If Pitino goes to the Hall of Fame, (which I think he should) wouldn't it be interesting if he had to wear a cap like in Baseball? If he did, which cap would he wear?

Providence?

UK?

UL?

Or just have three faces made with each wearing one of the hats?

I may be in the minority here, but I would prefer it "not" be UK.

That's interesting, would you mind sharing why?

I loved and will always appreciate the coaching job that Pitino did while at U.K., imo Pitino is no doubt one of the two or three if not the best coach in the country.

I also cannot stand his "pompass jerk" attitude. I didn't really like that about him when he was at U.K.. I doubt seriously that Pitino will be going to I.U., he did however say that he was not interested in the I.U. job and considering his record of honesty this makes Pitino a leading cantidate for the Hoosier coaching position :D.

By the way, what is the list or count up to now of coaches that have turned down the I.U. job :p?

That University has some major adminstration problems to say the least.

I would say that the money is not being offered to bring in some of these guys, plus an unknown punishment/non-punishment awaits the winner of the job....

Ricky P will not be leaving Louisville anytime soon.

I want him to stay at UL.
