Why do Conservatives dislike Hillary Clinton so much?

Featured Replies

You have still failed to answer my question so I will take it you don't have the answer but only the canned Dem response.

Since you can't answer my first question how about this one. What is the main reason for the foreclosers? Is it because unemployment is at an all time high meaning so many people are out of work and unable to make their loan payments? Or could it be that too many people bought houses they couldn't afford, with money they didn't have. How is that the Bush's fault?

Actually I would bet that this side of the Great Depression unemployment in the manufacturing industries is pretty low. (If they keep such a statistic) When you ship a most of your textiles overseas there is bound to be a pretty low number in manufacturing jobs.

You can't say that Reagan caused economic distress. It simply isn't backed by any economics. But you are correct in pointing out the contradiction that people in this thread are making.

Oil tycoons are not evil. What would be there incentive to inflict pain on American people? The huge profits they make are a business decision. First of all, Americans are too stupid to wean themselves off of oil. Until you at least attempt to lower your use, you can't complain. Second of all, if I were in a business in which costs are expected to get higher and higher (because OPEC is charging more and more) then absolutely I would make as much money as I could right now. Expected future price level is a basic component in setting prices.

Second of all, life was not better in the 1990's. That doesn't make any sense. And is not proved by anything. About the housing crisis, the only people who are at fault are the people who borrowed more then they can pay, and the people are lent out money to people who couldn't pay back. Those same types of people had the same types of problems in the 1990's.

The war is a legitimate complaint. I agree with the war but I can understand where someone would differ. That is a whole different argument.

I have no problem if McCain admits that he will need someone who knows economics to advise him on the issue. If Obama thinks that raising taxes will help the economy, then maybe he should humble himself and get someone who knows economics.

And what exactly does Obama say that is not "the same thing over and over again"? He says (and will say) "change" over and over and over again.

It's not like everything was always rosey under Reagan's Administration. He had a huge recession in his first term (many can point to Carter for that but if you do that can the inverse not be true on GWB following a good period for Clinton?). The so called Misery Index was pretty high for Reagan (12% ?) which was 4 points better than Carter but almost 5 points worse than Clinton.

As to the statement that life was better in the 90's I would say it was for me and for my area. Much better. But I think that's not a rule of thumb you can use to measure either Clinton or Bush by.

Your other points are ones I would agree with and/or consider to be valid.

This years candidates are the prime example of "anyone who WANTS to be president should not be allowed to".

How can you tell if a politician is lying?

He/She is still drawing breath!!

The bolded text is extremely misleading. Reagan inherited an economy from the president who made the misery index a household word (actually a household phrase). A better judgment on the economic policies of Reagan and Clinton is the difference in the misery index between their first and last days in office. On that basis, Clinton cannot hold a candle to Reagan and neither can any other modern president.

Well I know why people don't like Bill. My question should have been aimed towards Why people hate Hilary.

Not saying she isn't disliked on her own "merits", but I think a large part of the hatred towards her is directly linked to Bill. The people that hated Bill, hate her too because she's his wife.

If her name was Jane Doe and she wasn't associated with Bill Clinton, I doubt the feelings toward her would be as bad. I'm not saying people would like her...just that they wouldn't dislike her as much. I think the point you made about Obama being rated more liberal bears that out to some degree...of course, Hillary has been a public figure longer, so she's had more time to build up bad will.

I am sorry that I did not answer your first question, I just needes some clarification before I responded (the whole economic picture in the 90's) Some say it was better in the 90's, some say not, I respect that.

Now as your question again and I will be happy to respond. You have brought on an interesting point about the unemployment rate! That is an excellent point, maybe it is because maybe NAFTA is not really helping any of the common man. However, it does help my stock prices, to bad I am more concerned buying a milk that is up to six dollars.

Now honestly tell me that if you had 500 billion dollars a year, that you could do good in your local area. Can you? I know this is a lead in back to the Iraq war, but hey let's stay there for as long as it takes, finish the job, my question is this when will we know that the job is finished? We have the best military in the world, and I love each of them, but a military is used to defend their own country.

I know that you will probably attack this post and some of my points and ask questions, that is great, because like I said in another thread, "these are serious times, and we need serious people"

Remember Obama '08:dancingpa

I think some have taken my tone on the bolded incorrectly. I was not saying that unemployment is at an all time high. It should have read like it does above.

The best place for our military to defend us is at the source, before it hits our shores.

So first, someone said that it was Regan that caused a surplus and the economic propserity which was a fraud right?

I need that point to be made clear.

Second, was the quality of life better in 90's versus now? Oil prices and such, again not President Bush is fault, I know, those evil oil tycoons, well wait a minute, was not the Bush family in the oil buisness?

Third, we were not in a war in the 90's. However, what is the offical reason why we went, five years later I am still not clear on why we are over there, but to question would label me as unpatriotic, right? I support our troops, but would just like to know why we are there?

Fourth, Bill Clinton did have an affair, even though, that is not a crime, it was unmoral, period the end. However, is his sin greater than mine? Greater then Nixon or an other human, for that matter?

I might be wrong that people in 90's had a better quality of life than they do now, people now might be seeing the greatest prosperty that they have ever had, people had houses and not worry of forecloser, but everywhere I turn, I don't see it.

These are real problems that need real solutions. The republicans have not produced a canadate that has a real solution other than, "I am not educated enough to speak on economic issues", "If it takes a 100 years, we will still be in Iraq".

However, my party has a figure that causes hope, the right does not like hope, everybody is wrong and sinful, or muslim, or doesn't pledge to the flag (which were proven wronge). In November, when one canadate will just say I am a vet, over and over again, and the other canadate will offer points of view, and not say the same thing over again, I look forward to seeing this.

With all of this said Obama in '08:dancingpa

The crime of his affair was he lied under oath.

I think some have taken my tone on the bolded incorrectly. I was not saying that unemployment is at an all time high. It should have read like it does above.

Yes the problem is (and you are right) companies were extending credit to those that shouldn't have had it, and were over extending credit on home loans, that couldn't be paid back.

Pour me a glass of some of that Clinton Kool-aid please.;)

Could you please explain what you mean by hope?

The republicans believe that everything is great! They have choosen that is going to follow the same path as the administration is now, at least on the big issues. I respect that, but that is what their downfall will be, they refuse to change, to see issues for what they are, instead they will keep asking questions, and do nothing.

It is a time for hope for alll of America because change can take place, for the first time since it has been recorded the youth has taken a deep interest. Infact, the canadate that I endorse has one of the highest among people under 30!

So when are we going to envade North Korea, China, the West Bank?

The crime of his affair was he lied under oath.

I agree, I believe that he did, but the law says he didn't. as far as I know, only one president has gone through with the process of being impeached!

I am going to assume you are meaning national republicans because there has been many Bush voters on BGP who have been very upset with some of Bush's actions and expressed such here on BGP.
