There was a rough play where the Shelby player sort of tackled a Mason player. Things got a little hot for a second and apparently one of the Mason players left the bench area. He was hit with the technical for leaving the bench.

 

Shelby was only down two with about 2:00 to go, but MC hit 6 FTs to stretch it out. A frustrated Donovan Johnson all but decapitated Ethan King on a breakaway layup. Trevor Setty left the bench and got T'd up, while Johnson got a flagrant foul. The crowd booed like crazy, however, as Shelby got the ball back after the FTs were shot. They actually made up a point on the play because of the harsher penalty for leaving the bench.

Anyone know if Setty got ejected. I heard he can't play tonight? Can someone please clear this up.

I was listening to Ormay and Coach Hardin through the KHSAA website. I thought it was terrible, personally. I rarely heard the score, Hardin kept making worthless comments over top of pivotal action, and Ormay was more interesting in plugging the next commercial. The only person who added anything to the broadcast was the sideline reporter.

Well, I wasn't crazy about the broadcast either; but if you look back at my updates, you'll see that they did give the score pretty often. What I had more trouble with was getting them to give the time remaining once in a while.

From what I'm hearing they actually stopped him a couple of steps from the bench. That wouldn't warrant an ejection. IMO.

They called it an "Indirect Technical" or something like that. Never heard of it before. I guess that means he can still play.

 

Shelby gave Mason more trouble than I expected. The Rockets definitely played a pretty solid game for them.

 

Mason hasn't looked like a state championship caliber team to me. Miller played a little harder today with Coach G in attendance, and made some timely plays. He does a good job of getting others involved and letting them play off of him. When he gets the ball in his hands he can make things happen. I really like his game and look forward to seeing him play on that floor next year.

Shelby County is much improved in recent weeks. Their sophomores were impressive, they are not playing like sophomores right now.

My thoughts exactly. It would be interesting to hear Larry Boucher's take on what happened. I've talked to two officials that were at the game and they said there was no doubt he came onto the floor. The officials obviously saw him come on the floor, because they gave him a T. I guess they just don't know the rule. That's not good if you ask me.:madman:
