March 22, 200818 yr It's no coincidence that the Reds are pitching in the following order: Aaron Harang Bronson Arroyo Johnny Cueto Josh Fogg Edinson Volquez Dusty Baker wouldn't quite say it, but that's how the rotation will line up for the start of the season. "It's not set," Baker said. "We've still got some action. It's pretty set, except for that fifth spot. I hate to tell young kids that they're there too soon. Then if something happens, you've got to go back on your word. You want to keep them motivated and driven through the end of spring training." http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/redsinsider/2008/03/rotation-its-set.asp#comments
March 22, 200818 yr Maybe Bailey can work on improving his humility and overall attitude while he is down in Louisville and wondering how the other guys who took his spot on the MLB roster.
March 22, 200818 yr Much better than last season, can't wait for Homer to take his spot back from Fogg.
March 22, 200818 yr Hit or miss with that rotation due to the youth. I think Bailey may be dealt, his stock has dropped drastically.
March 22, 200818 yr Author I think Bailey may be dealt, his stock has dropped drastically. Except since his stock has gone down, you wouldn't get much for him...
March 22, 200818 yr Hit or miss with that rotation due to the youth. I think Bailey may be dealt, his stock has dropped drastically. And also the fact that Fogg and Arroyo are basically .500 pitchers.
March 22, 200818 yr Except since his stock has gone down, you wouldn't get much for him... Sadly you are right.. I guess Blanton would be a reach at this point. If they move him it will probably be with another player in the deal.
March 22, 200818 yr Bailey isn't going anywhere. Except to Cincinnati in a couple of months. Wishful thinking my friends. Stop being a "homer" and look at what is in front on you. They kid has a ways to go. I am in no way giving up on him he is only 21 but he is still at least a year away from being a solid contributor to the big club.
March 22, 200818 yr Bailey isn't going anywhere. Except to Cincinnati in a couple of months. Do AAA players get a discount on tickets?
March 23, 200818 yr I'll throw this out there to you Reds "experts": Would a package of Belisle, Freel, and Hatty bring anything of value? Freel has no value to us. Belisle wants to start and won't for this team and we have plenty of other middle relief options. Hatty is expendable - if Votto struggles, can put Dunner there and give Bruce his shot. Just a thought.
March 23, 200818 yr I agree, we need a trade nad let some of the young kids play. Freel is of no value to us.
March 23, 200818 yr I like the rotation, I am mad because I can't pick Cueto up in my Yahoo fantasy league, he is not even listed.
