March 17, 200818 yr http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/Statistics/Marquette.html Cool site What does everyone think after looking at this? Head says Marquette, Heart says UK!
March 17, 200818 yr A young man named Dwayne Wade killed them last time they played Marquette. Didn't help that Bogans was out.
March 17, 200818 yr A young man named Dwayne Wade killed them last time they played Marquette. Is he coming back to play them again or something, if not then why does it even matter?
March 17, 200818 yr A young man named Dwayne Wade killed them last time they played Marquette. He doesn't play anymore, so I am picking UK.
March 17, 200818 yr Didn't help that Bogans was out. Bogans wasn't out but he wasn't 100% either. He only played about half the game on bad wheel.
March 17, 200818 yr Bogans wasn't out but he wasn't 100% either. He only played about half the game on bad wheel. Yeah, and Billy P ACC ker didn't mention that yesterday when he was doing his usual Kentucky bashing on the selection show. Thank goodness I have a mute button.
March 17, 200818 yr Is he coming back to play them again or something, if not then why does it even matter? Maybe becasue the title is UK vs. Marquette History... :sssh:
March 17, 200818 yr Bogans wasn't out but he wasn't 100% either. He only played about half the game on bad wheel. He was a bad wheel and it took the air out of that team when he got hurt. That Kentucky team was by far the best Tubby team except the 98 team. They were fun to watch. The game that was a bigger disappointment was the 94 game because that was in the round of 32. That got Kevin O'Neil a huge contract at Tennessee.

According to Cawood Ledford one of the UK wins hurt KY more. When Al Maguire showed up on the '68 tourney at Lexington he created a stink and got under Rupp's skin. The result was that the UK team was pretty fired up and took it out on Marquette to the tune of 107-89. Problem was that UK spent all it's emotion and energy on them and came out flat against a good Ohio State team in the Regional Final. The Buckeyes beat UK on a last second basket and sent Sophomores Dan Issel and Mike Casey home without a Final Four appearance. I remember the '75 game and Hall's team broke that one open in the 2nd half and used it as momentum all the way through IU and to the Title Game. That was a good Marquette team with Bo Ellis, Earl Tatum and Butch Lee. It might also be noted that the last Collegiate Victory for Adolph Rupp was vs. Marquette in the '72 Mideast Regional.

Very good infomation. Issel and Casey never did make a final four run did they. Only Maguire could get that under someone's skin.
