Something for NKY to think about.....I've been talking to a lot of Holmes people lately and it looks like the rumor is true that they're getting 2, (possibly 3) transfers next year to go along with an already good core of Pittman, Johnson brothers, Arnold, and Riley.

 

One from Woodward, one from Taft, and another (didn't hear where he is from), is getting recruited by Wisconsin.

 

Don't know the positions but I know the one from Taft is a tall PG.

But it's a whole heck of a lot easier for Dale to be involved with the FTJFL. They play at Dale's place and have been an established "feeder" for football for 40+ years. Willie does not enjoy the same advantages.

Holmes is starting to develop D1 talent and seems to keep getting Ohio transfers, if that keeps up then no one can stop them.

The following year though both Keyvon Arnold and the 6'6 freshman that's coming in will both be more experienced which is why I give them a better shot at winning it in 2010 than 2009 when the Johnson brothers/Pittman are seniors, Arnold a junior, and Herndon (6'6 freshman to be) is a sophomore.

True, but don't forget that they play more as a team, and I wouldn't say that JJ is D1.

Realize it's only summer AAU but Ky Players with all of that talent have been very underwhelming while Shining Stars with core players from Boone Co have competed on a better level and I think have the advantage in head to head as well.

I think its too early to declare any current Holmes player as a D1 player. Potentially? Yes.

 

There are no D1 players on Boone's team. Heck, there are not many candidates for D1 in NKY.

 

I'd say Holmes fans should remember the 2006 class when it comes to making individual player assessments for this 2010 class.

Rico Johnson has gotten letters from Georgetown, and Billy G. has shown interest in Pittman, so to say its too early isn't true, but 2010 plays more as a team than 2006.

Still too early in my opinion. Its exciting to get the letters but ....

 

How will they develop physically? Can they handle the ball well enough at the D1 level to play outside? Will Pittman continue to grow? Still questions. They are off to a good start and , as I stated, have the potential but I'm going to withhold judgment for now.

 

My comment about the 06 team was meant to warn fans from overhyping players like they did for 3 kids who were not D1 players yet had been told that from the time they were in jr high.
