NCAA regulations allow colleges to send information about their camps and questionnaires to possible recruits during their sophomore year. This is the case for football, I assume it is the same for basketball as well.

I agree but you never know considering the same was said about Henderson. (I personally don't think any of them will be or are on the same level as Henderson though.) They would be better suited at the D2 level. The best player Boone has had come through the past couple years didn't even go D1. (Rasso) Which is very surprising considering he was 6'8. There has to be somewhere he could have fit in with a small D1 program.

Yes, but I think he focuses more on baseball. He can get up and is a good shot blocker but is fairly thin.

If you go back and re read my post, I stated that a college coach must address the letter to the high school coach but it can contain the prospect's name in the letter which is the case with Rico.

 

A lot of people who say they are getting letters from high D1 schools are usually just getting camp invites. I know for a fact Duran Jefferson was receiving "letters" from Kansas, Illinois, UNC, UC, Wake Forest, MIami (Fl), but all they were was camp invitations. None were official letters to invite them to the campus or a game for an official visit. Big difference in getting letters for camps and getting letters requesting a visit and film.

You wouldn't think so, but you never know. Not all D1 guards are 6'1" or taller. Gonzaga's PG is 6'0" I think.

Earls is a 6'6" post for Boone. I think he may also be undersized for D1, except maybe as a small forward, but he would need to improve his ball handling skills. I know he has developed a nice outside shot and has good shooting touch.

Which is the exact case with Pittman and Rico. As far as visits go you can take an "unofficial visit" pretty much whenever you want but I have heard cases before where coaches would take their juniors on a visit to the campus for a game/event.

If he bulks up any over the next few years, he could be the biggest prospect of that Boone class. He will most likely get taller and he is more of a combo guard (inside/outside) so I think if he sticks with basketball and puts in the time and effort he'd have a better shot at landing a scholarship than some of the other Boone players who lack the height.

From those in the know, these transfer rumors are unequivocally false.

 

I don't doubt your credibility but several players who return next year have said these rumors are true as well as the AAU coach of the players..

I personally know LABS and know he would have a pretty good idea about the situation, But I was just repeating what players, coaches, and parents had told me from the AAU team.

Still too early in my opinion. Its exciting to get the letters but ....

 

How will they develop physically? Can they handle the ball well enough at the D1 level to play outside? Will Pittman continue to grow? Still questions. They are off to a good start and , as I stated, have the potential but I'm going to withhold judgment for now.

 

My comment about the 06 team was meant to warn fans from overhyping players like they did for 3 kids who were not D1 players yet had been told that from the time they were in jr high.

 

You can't make a comparison between those kids and these kids though... and I'm not talking because of their basketball skills.
