Before him I thought there were several teams who could potentially knock them off (NCC, Boone, CCH) but I think he may be the missing piece that was needed to solidify themselves as the top team in the region hands down.

I agree with them running through the region without him, but I don't know about easily. Either way it doesn't matter. They were the top team without him and they'll be even tougher to beat with him.

Holmes doesn't have a guy like Arrez Henderson this year to keep everyone on the same page, but I do think they will make it out of the 9th region and have a good run at Rupp.

The thing that will be hard to replace is Henderson's lock-down defense on the other team's leading scorer every game.

True but it's not like those other kids aren't capable. Arrez wasn;t the only reason they were one of the top 3 defensive teams in the state. All are very long and athletic. I think Rico or Housley will get the duties of locking down the other team's leading scorer. Both are very good defenders. Not as good as Arrez, but still very solid.

I think you mean the 05/06 team which is the only time Holmes hasn't won region in the past 4 years. 04/05 team won the Region (Lexie Brown, Jefferson, Edmondson, Rice, Hill) and lost to eventual state runner up Warren Central in the first round.

 

But you can't compare those kids to these. IMO the Johnson Brothers and Pittman are much more mature than that group. Also the group this year had 6 seniors last year who laid a great foundation for these young men to build on. Those seniors showed what it takes to win.

Just going by what his cousin has said.

Dont know much about the 9th region, but was impressed with Boone Co. when they beat Adair Co. last year. How many starters did they lose? I think one has transferred to Scott Co. I thought that Holmes lost more starters than thier best player Henderson? I didnt think that Boone lost much and that Holmes did, so a figuired that Boone would be the favorite.
