I don't know about famous but the best assistant coach has to be Dan Tieman from CovCath. Famous, played for the Royals for a short time in the NBA. Also the head coach at CovCath for a number of years. And quite possibly, one of the finest men you will ever meet.

Which team in the 10th Region has an asst. coach that resembles this famous man?

Does any other coach in the state have their father as an assistant other than at Highlands?

 

Casey Lester at Harlan has his father, Bruce, as an assistant.

Nimbo Hammons who played at George Washington is an assistant at Bryan Station.

Another coach that has his father as an assistant is Jeremy Webb at West. His father, Jim is an assistant there now, and was the head coach during the 80's.

Preston LeMaster, former UK Wildcat on the bench at Bourbon County.

Robbie Graham of Clark County is a great assistant coach. He could take over a program anytime. I believe he played at Vanderbilt University for a year. He helped Fleming County win 2 regional championships with Lake Kelly. Now, he helped Clark County win a regional championship last year.

Denny Fugate who led MC Napier to the final four in the 80"s is an assistant for Perry Co. Central.

Robbie Graham has a good history of basketball. I believe he is cousins with Chris Lofton (Tennessee), his nephew (Josh Graham) played at Virginia Commenwealth University. Clark County is very lucky to have an assistant like Coach Graham. He is definitely a sponge when it comes to basketball. I could see Coach Graham taking over a high school program and be very successful. I think schools that are looking for a good coach need to get in contact with Coach Graham because he could do great things in his program.

Coach Dudley Mattingly of Scott Co. He probably has more 9th grade victories than any coach in the state.

 

I'm not sure how many Coach Mattingly has, or how long he's been at Scott County. But, it is difficult for me to fathom a freshman coach who has more victories than Steve Sorrell at Covington Catholic.
