The studs from Elliott are the Faulkners....Ferguson is a fine player, but he forces a lot of shots. Give either Faulkner his number of shots, they out average him by 5 to 6 a game. Plus both already out rebound and out assist him.

Ferguson avgs, 18.9 shots per game(46%) 723pts for 24.9ppg

 

Evan shoots 12.0 shots per game(49.5%) 485pts for 16.7ppg

 

Ethan shoots 9.6 shots per game(51%) 454pts for 15.7ppg

 

Give them those extra 7(ev) 9(eth) shots if they could get them with Ferguson's defender on them and assuming they hit 1/2 of them their averages would be about equal. If % were a little less because of better defender average would be a little less.

 

You have to take into consideration that they probably wouldnt shoot those %'s if they drew the other teams best defender night in and night out like Ferguson does.

 

When playing top teams like Cov. Cath and Mason, Ferguson(up to this point) has still got his normal numbers no one else on the team has.

Ferguson draws the best defender in every game that Elliott plays. For instance Grimes from CCH and Miller from Mason. He had 29 vs CCH and 27 vs Mason. If my memory doesnt fail me The Twins had 8 and 6 vs CCH and 10 and 6 vs Mason and this just 2 examples. IMO if Miller or Grimes guards either twin they wouldnt have gotten that many points. The Twins are very good players and bring alot to the table.

Lincoln County-

Young and Keeton are the senior leaders along with Ralston. All three are guards and all three have over one thousand points in their careers. This is their second trip to Rupp.

 

LC also has a very talented junior, who puts up monster stats, Ethan Spurlin. He was out with mono for a long time. He is getting healthy now, I would say he was the best player in the 12th region tournament last week.

Both of them dont lead him in rebounds either(which you stated)only one of them does(by 1.4) There is not enough difference in any of the three's rebounds to matter, and as I stated before the point guard should be a few assists ahead.

:thumb: I agree they need a big performance out of him. I think he was one of the most underrated defensive players in the 14th. I watched him go up against Scotty Hopson in the All "A" Classic. He didn't shut him down but he done a great job on him.

All I said in my original post was he forced a lot of shots, if that is downing his play, sorry. JMO

I agree with those saying the Faulkner's are the heart and soul and most important players for Elliott. Their basketball IQ is tremendous, and without those 2 Elliott would be very average. Ferguson forces alot of shots and flops on many of those. He is a nice high school player, but the other two are more complete players, no contest.

You reckon Ferguson not being any good is why he always draws the other teams best defender. And his average flopping mediocre play is why he is(according to his Father, new's, internet) getting "serious" attention from several high major schools, and 70 some altogether counting the mid major's. Course I would say you guys know more about the talent pool than those college recruiter's do. He does force some shots as does every player on the team, but if he didnt he wouldnt get very many attempts I can tell you that. There is hardly ever an offensive set ran for him. He has to create his own shot most of the time. I would just about bet the farm that UK signee Darius Miller wont be guarding anybody else on the team thursday.

Oh! By the way his Bball IQ might not be very high, but at least he does know enough to give the ball up on the fastbreak to get the almost for sure basket.

I don't see how you guys can argue about these kid's. They are good friend's with each other, and their stats are almost mirror's of one another. Stats tell all you need to know and theirs are all about the same. None of them averages over 1-2 TO's a game, they all average good assist numbers for their position, and they all three have excellant FG% which is a sign that none of them are forcing too many shots so I would have to say they all have good basketball IQ's and you take any of the threeoff the team and it is damaged pretty bad.

Also Stewart or Smart are both good players. Who is better probably depends on how you look at it. Can't go wrong with either.
