Why Is Conference Tournament 1st and 2nd Round Better Than The NCAA 1st Round?

Featured Replies

I think there is no right or wrong choice here... it's all about what you enjoy the most about basketball. I prefer seeing teams who haven't met each other doing battle, and I prefer the miraculous upsets. But, the conference torunaments offer much more parity and offers that small hope for schools who have no other chance to play in the NCAA to make it.

Is that like UK claiming YMCA wins from back in the day to boost their overall win totals? I also remember your beloved UK having a few problems with those YMCA quality teams from CUSA. Just sayin... :jump:

HAHA.... too bad there cannot be away for a mid-major to play a major conference and pull the big upset, especially in a lose and your out setting? Huh? :sssh:

As some have already said on here, many of these teams will live to fight another day, even if they lose. NCAA tournament is far, far better with more emotion.

You can't beat the emotion from a team that finally has its shot at goliath and seeing that play out on LIVE tv.

Far from it.

You can't close your case on that.. You said 1st and 2nd round... Today doesn't count. :p

It was a pretty solid weekend that for sure.

No doubt, but nothing compares to what's ahead of us.

Shall we revisit? Yawn...

3 of the first 16 first round games were decided by less than 10 points. I'd say in addition to those three, the Xavier/Georgia and WVU/Arizona games were entertaining. The rest were abominations that were not really worth watching.

After watching the 1/16 games, I feel that we are further away than ever from that upset happening. Terrible stuff.

No doubt, but nothing compares to what's ahead of us.

Duke/Belmont and UK/Marquette were about the only good games really.
