Open Coaching Positions

Featured Replies

A lot of the jobs open up in the summer after school is out. Do you all really think Ligon will go from Station to Tates Creek? I have always heard that Ligon wants to get back to Louisville. I think his wife still lives there and he commutes a lot back and forth.

Who is their A.D. ?

Matt Wilhoit

Trying to get in touch with him now.

I hear Clay, Jackson, Corbin, and North possibly in the 13th.

I say what you hear is at least 75% wrong, maybe 100%. It would be a good time for Jackson's coach to move on though, they had many seniors this year I believe.

This is Jackson City - Not County, correct?

Why would North be open?

Just FYI, jobs very seldom come open after school is finished for the year. :thumb:

Not sure. I know Jackson County's football coach stepped down though.

I heard Ryle's job may be opening up. Any truth to that?

I have heard much the same as you have as well as possibly 2 or 3 other schools in the NKY area as the school year comes to a close. As I get more info I will be sure to pass along.

Is there a certain time after basketball that a coach is notified that they will not be returning the following year. I wasn't sure how this was handled, or does it vary by school?

There is date by law or the school has got to pay them for the next year. I think it is June 30 each year.

The Clay County job is not open. Coach Spurlock will be there, no doubts about it. And he will be there the year after that, and the year after that, and the year after that. That is just dumb talk to start a rumor like that.

I'm not certain on how that process comes about or how a school makes that decision but in some cases they need to tell the coach to turn in his keys right after the final buzzer goes off.:ylsuper::D

By May 15th the school is inform all extra curricular coaches/sponsors of their intensions.

Coach Spurlock better start winning some regional titles if he wants to be there "next year, year after that, and the year after that, and the year after that." :thumb:

I think that Coach Spurlock is a good coach and deserves to be there as long as he chooses; but the reality is that the people in Clay Co. will not settle for district championships or just winning the region once in a blue moon.
