Hillary's accent

I'm watching Hillary on CNN make a speech in Texas to a large crowd, and she doesn't sound the same as usual. She has a Texas accent. Does she change her character with the location of her speeches. Not that it matters, but why not just be yourself?

People noticed this a few months back whenever she was in a southern state. Pretty funny.

I have a friend, when we got back from England she sounded English, when she came back from South Carolina she had a twang and when she got back from NKY she said her 'O's funny.

Some people just pick up speech patterns from the locals... especially if you have 11 different home states like Clinton.

I'm for Obama, but I wouldn't read too much into it.

I am the last person that would defend Hilary, so I fell I can be "fair and balanced" on this subject. I travel all over the country, sometimes for weeks at a time. I don't come back with a Yankee accent when I'm in New England. But when I go to Texas or the southern states, I come back sounding like I've never been north of the Mason-Dixon Line in my entire life. I think it's because I feel more at home with the "good ol' boys" than I do anywhere else. A product of my Mingo County, WV mother and my Elliot County, KY father, I guess.

This post brings back some memories. I'm from St. Louis and my wife is from here in Richmond. When she first came to St. Louis I had to act as her translator. The reason being some people couldn't understand what she said.

I'd say its getting to the point that she'll do anything... If she thought giving a speech wearing booby tassels and a thong while talking in Pig Latin would revive her campaign, she'd do it. JMO

:fight: Man.....I just read that and I'm getting ready to go to bed. If I have a dream about this :creepy::scared::eek: I WILL TRACK YOU DOWN:fire:

I'm guessing that she really does have a southern accent, being from Arkansas. She has probably trained herself to hide it, but it pops out when she's around other southerners.

Agreed. Many people do everything in their power to hide their southern accent. I don't attempt to hide mine at all though I've been told mine gets worse when I've had an adult beverage or two. I remember I was in Newport one time at the Levee watching Mitch Hedberg and there were girls from NKY who liked my accent and wanted to know what state I was from. I replied, the same as you.

I also noticed my accent got worse after living with Corbinites for several years.

I've never tried to hide mine. No joke, I've had people from West Virginia comment on my accent and ask me if I was from Mississippi. But alot of people do try to hide them.

I've never tried to hide mine either. I'm proud of my southern/mountain heritage, and my accent. I always got irritated at people from my area when I was at EKU when they tried to change the way they talked to what they thought was an Ohio accent. To me, that said, "They're better than me because of the different way they pronounce words." Baloney!! There's nothing more beautiful than a southern accent. Hillary should have kept her Arkansas accent and been proud of her roots.

The Hill is not from Arkansas. She met Bill in college and moved there with him. I'm not an expert on Hillary, but I believe she is a native cheesehead of Wisconsin. Not sure, I just know she's not a natural born razorback.

WOW!! Even worse, then. Her Texas draw is a 9 on the 10 point Fake Meter.
